Celebrating Brenda Reder-James – A True VIP
We are thrilled to honor Brenda Reder-James, a cherished member of Sisters in the Spirit of Houston, as she is recognized as a VIP—Very Important Person—at her beloved parish, St. Matthias Catholic Church. Brenda’s unwavering faith, compassionate leadership, and commitment to community upliftment shine brightly in all she does. Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or a prayerful heart, Brenda embodies the spirit of service and sisterhood. From Bible Studies and to any Adult Faith Formation programs, Brenda was very involved and coordinating. She also worked with the youth Confirmation program and served on the Pastoral Council. She is a founding member of the 5-member Communal First Saturdays Committee, as well as a founding member of the 5-member Adult Faith Formation Committee and continues to be active in both as well as the Youth Confirmation Team. She serves as the coordinator for the Adult Faith Formation Ministry. She works tirelessly, planning retreats, missions,” and the “Did You Know (Weekly Catechetical moments)” series. She coordinates the series in English and in Spanish. The process to present a weekly “Did You Know” presentation is very structured and requires a lot of attention. She now serves as the coordinator for the Adult Faith Formation Ministry. She does everything with joy and enthusiasm, and a quiet spirit. Unless you work closely with her, one would never have a clue of Brenda’s many accomplishments – because she does it all so quietly. Brenda Reder-James is a great leader and inspiration in every meeting and event. This honor is a beautiful reflection of the light she brings to St. Matthias Catholic Church and beyond.
